Wet Scrubbing of Particulate Matter
Particulate matter can be removed by wet scrubbers by collecting it in liquid droplets. The droplets are collected, and the solvent either dissolves or absorbs the toxic fumes. A mist eliminator must be used to remove any droplets in the scrubber inlet gas from the outlet gas source.
Additionally, the resulting scrubbing solvent must be stored before being discharged or reused in the factory. The capacity of a wet scrubber to collect particulate matter is also directly proportional to the power supply. In order to achieve high removal efficiencies, a properly built and controlled mist eliminator is also needed.
